Bank Top is at the heart of Darlington, only a short walk from the town centre and is split by Yarm Road with properties at Wesley Court, Rocket Street and Carlton Court to the north and King William Street, Garrick Court and Globe Court to the south.
Both sides have good neighbour schemes which focus on a person’s independence whilst having the benefit of a scheme manager as well as a community centre which provide activities on a daily basis and offers a safe haven for tenants.
One success story for the area is garden team at Wesley Court who transformed a previously unloved garden into a suburban oasis.
Fun Fact
Darlington Bank Top station opened in 1887 after previously originating as the northern terminus of the Great North of England Railway, which linked Darlington with York and was opened to passengers in March 1841. The station was designed by North Eastern Railway’s first architect Thomas Presser.
