Conclusions

This strategy sets out how Adult Social Care (ASC) will seek to put in place digital developments for the future.

Any new technologies will be planned with engagement across the service. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and workforce development and in line with the vision of the strategy and measures of success. This will ensure we deliver a real benefit to the service and the people we support.

Although technologies will change and evolve, user involvement and a skilled workforce are the basis of our approach.

Despite this being a digital strategy it is known that digital has its limits. To date, not a single technological innovation has been able to reproduce the qualities of empathy and compassion that form the best care and support practices. Nothing can be better than face-to-face interaction; but we can look to digital to help us be more efficient, effective and responsive.
